Traveling in any way can help a person find who they really are and shape how one sees the world and can influence the way of thinking and judging as we go through life. Traveling brings up unexpected challenges, new lifestyles to observe, and can bring new interests into life that one never knew they had.

Every country, city, town, village, and even neighborhood has its own unique lifestyles and cultures. Some may be right next to each other but have completely separate ways of thinking towards politics, religion, and their general lifestyle. Some cities have more of an all inclusive melting pot of people from different backgrounds and ethnicity. I think seeing as many different places as possible helps one see how big the world is and all it has to offer. I can say there is a tremendous difference between the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest as a short example. Spending a lot of time in these two regions has helped me see that there are great differences in people and has helped shape who I am and the ideas I choose to support. The PNW has much more cultural variety allowing me to see all kinds of people and has given me more of an open mind and acceptance to different lifestyles. In the Midwest there is less diversity, making it more difficult to be educated in dealing with something out of the ordinary such as homelessness for example. I think traveling makes you stronger by presenting challenges that you must overcome and giving yourself a slight culture shock only helps one grow and open their mind.
